Less Nitrogen. More Options for the Way You Dive.
If your dive plans include multiple dives in a day—or several days of diving back-to-back—EAN 32 Nitrox is one of the most useful certifications you can add to your diving toolbox.
Nitrox contains a higher percentage of oxygen and a lower percentage of nitrogen than ordinary air. That means your body is exposed to less nitrogen while diving, which can provide longer no-decompression limits at many recreational depths and make Nitrox particularly useful for repetitive diving.
But using Nitrox safely means understanding more than simply choosing a different tank. That’s where we come in.
Why Dive With Nitrox?
For many recreational divers, the biggest advantage of EAN 32 is simple: less nitrogen exposure.
That can be especially useful on dive vacations, liveaboards, and other trips where you may make several dives each day for multiple days in a row. Depending on your depth and dive profile, EAN 32 may also give you longer no-decompression limits than air.
Nitrox isn’t a magic gas, and it doesn’t make every dive longer or eliminate decompression risk. It has its own limits that every Nitrox diver needs to understand.
And that’s exactly why we teach the course.
Understanding the Gas You Breathe
Your SSI digital coursework introduces you to the fundamentals of EAN 32. Then we’ll meet in the classroom to take those concepts off the screen and put them into the context of real-world diving.
Together, we’ll explore the benefits and limitations of EAN 32, including how Nitrox affects your dive planning, no-decompression limits, oxygen exposure, and depth.
With plenty of time for questions and real-world examples, you’ll leave understanding the gas you’re breathing and feeling confident to use it on your next dives.
